Since January, I wanted to look around for cool Metal and Rock albums on Bandcamp to expand my music consumption. Twitch always had some DMCA issues about music, so I make it a thing to track down new music that I’ve never heard of.
Right now, I’ve been listening to Infant Island‘s newest album Beneath.
A few choice tracks, like Content have that great in-between of ambient sound and melodic that keeps me hooked! I dug this nice dark, surf sound! I recommend them if you dig surf rock and punk!
I’ve also been listening to The Ominous Quadrant by Galactic Mechanics and I really like it!
It takes you on a heavy metal space adventure! This band’s been on my wishlist for a while, so I’m glad I can give them support for their talents!
If you’re hunting for an Iron Maiden like sound, ScrollKeeper is a great band to check out! I’m currently listening to their album Auto da Fe, and it’s great!
Besides these, I continue to listen to video game music to keep me in the mood for retro games. Currently, Super Castlevania 4’s music is filling me with nostalgia to the point that I kinda ache at the moment. It reminds me of my carefree times in college aspiring to be as great as their soundtracks and games are.
With Konami in mind, The Snatcher vinyl soundtrack has been killing it for me too. It has way better sound quality than my mp3s of the soundtrack. It makes me wish I had the vinyl and some good cans to just lie down and listen to it.
